Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team in Newark, NJ.

The Drafter will convert design concepts, sketches, and specifications into precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support mechanical construction planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and able to collaborate across disciplines to ensure drawings meet codes, industry standards, and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of drafting experience specifically within the plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trade.
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit; Navisworks or SysQue a major plus.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret complex commercial architectural, structural, and MEP engineering blueprints.
• Location: on-site at our Newark, NJ headquarters, full-time.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive 2D shop drawings and coordinated 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from architectural and engineering plans.
• Utilize AutoCAD MEP and Revit to draft highly accurate spatial layouts for commercial new construction projects.
• Run automated clash-detection workflows using Navisworks to flag and resolve spatial conflicts before fabrication.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and field supervisors to integrate real-world feedback into technical submittals.
• Organize and maintain digital drawing logs, project revisions, and BIM coordination files.
