Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Assistant Superintendent to join our Building Technology team on projects in Richmond, VA; Culpeper, VA; and Herndon, VA. This full-time, in-person role supports complex MEP systems installation to deliver high-quality performance.

You will lead trades and vendors, help develop schedules, oversee QA/QC, and assist with commissioning to ensure systems meet performance standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience with large MEP systems.
• Experience managing workforce, monitoring progress, and resolving technical challenges.
• Experience with data centers, airports, or other complex MEP facilities.
• Strong communication and leadership for managing client and trade partner relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools, QA/QC processes, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of safety programs and energy control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all MEP systems installation and ensure quality standards.
• Lead MEP trade partners and equipment vendors throughout all construction phases.
• Develop and maintain project schedules; monitor QA/QC programs.
• Manage punch lists and troubleshoot field engineering issues.
• Support start-up and commissioning activities to ensure systems meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams from pre-construction through close-out.
• Maintain relationships with clients, design partners, and trade partners to foster collaboration.
