Job summary

Texans Together is seeking a Mentor Program Specialist in Houston to lead the organization’s mentoring and onboarding initiatives. You will recruit, train, and support mentors, ensuring new staff receive structured coaching and career development opportunities.

You will partner with leaders across programs to monitor relationships, analyze outcomes, and drive improvements in engagement and retention. This role emphasizes collaboration, data reporting, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Psychology, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in Child Protective Services or child welfare.
  • Three (3) years in employee development, training, or mentoring.
  • Experience facilitating training or group sessions.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, supervision, or staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the mentor program for newly hired staff.
  • Recruit, train, and support mentors.
  • Match mentors with new employees based on guidelines.
  • Monitor mentoring relationships and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Develop and deliver mentor training sessions and materials.
  • Prepare reports on mentoring activities, retention, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, L&D, and leadership to strengthen workforce capability.
