Salary: $22.70 - $25.81/hr
*Hourly rate includes a $1.00/hr. salary stipend and a $1.00/hr. direct care stipend. Applicants with CNA certificates on the Maine registry will receive an additional $.50/hour.

Employees start at Step 5 of the pay scale. Promotional starting salary will follow contractual guidelines.

  • Shift differential: +$.35/hr. for 2nd shift
  • Shift differential: +$.45/hr. for 3rd shift
  • Weekend differential: +$.60/hr. for weekend hours
Job duties:

As a Mental Health Worker, you will provide paraprofessional support, direct patient care, and assist in implementing programs and treatments for individuals with severe mental illness. Your role is vital in delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a recovery-oriented environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent. Preference for candidates with mental health experience, registered on the Maine CNA registry, and possessing a valid Maine driver's license.

Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is a 69-bed psychiatric hospital serving Maine, providing care for individuals with severe mental illness, in collaboration with community supports to ensure respectful and effective treatment.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) promotes health and safety for Maine residents, overseeing healthcare providers and psychiatric hospitals.
