Job Overview:
Are you passionate about mental healthcare and eager to join a team that shares your enthusiasm and commitment to compassionate care? Riverview Psychiatric Center seeks Mental Health Workers to provide paraprofessional support, including direct care, rehabilitation, and behavior modification for patients in state institutions. Responsibilities include implementing treatment and educational programs, providing direct patient care, and maintaining patient areas. Employees may serve as group leaders or primary aides for assigned patient groups, working under general supervision.
This position specializes in community reintegration activities, including trips, appointments, and visits. It also involves assisting the Recreation Department as needed. A valid Maine Driver’s license and the ability to operate a State-owned vehicle are required. When not in the community, these positions function as Mental Health Worker II’s on unit schedules. These are flexible positions with every other weekend rotation.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of direct care mental health experience. Valid Maine driver’s license.
