Koinonia Homes for Teens is seeking qualified and compassionate individuals to join our team as part-time Mental Health Support Workers (MHSW) in our adolescent residential therapeutic programs. If you're dedicated to creating a positive difference in the lives of at-risk youth, Koinonia is the place for you. We are currently hiring for multiple shifts and locations.

The Mental Health Support Worker opportunity includes:

  • $22.00 to $24.00 per hour starting wage. Eligible for annual pay increases.
  • PTO accrual, premium pay for working certain holidays, 401k plan and more.
  • Supervise youth on outings, recreational activities and other vacation destinations (while getting paid!).

The MHSW position supervises the youth's day-to-day activity in Koinonia's Homes for Teens residential program. The program serves youth 12 to 18 years of age who have had early childhood trauma with mental health and/or substance abuse issues that require residential treatment. With the assistance of coworkers, the MHSW position provides direct supervision for up to six youth as they complete their daily program activities.

We are looking to fill multiple Part-Time shifts throughout the morning and evening hours.

Position responsibilities include supervision of youth, transportation, role modeling appropriate and positive adult behavior, participating with social workers and youth in periodic group and individual therapy sessions, performing routine household and grounds maintenance on occasion, performing food services for youth on occasion, and preparing paperwork and reports.

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate individual with good boundaries who has a passion for helping at-risk youth. They will also have good interpersonal and communication skills; good time management and organizational skills; be reliable and dependable; work productively under minimal supervision; have a high degree of integrity and confidentiality; have a reliable means of transportation; and a schedule that is flexible to meet work requirements. Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by state law), and have experience working with youth (including but not limited to coaching, tutoring, mentoring, daycare, volunteering or working in a school), OR a bachelor's degree, OR teaching certificate, OR Alcohol and Other Drug certification.

At Koinonia, we pride ourselves on creating an exceptional organizational culture that focuses on the quality of relationships and values diversity. In fact, in a recent employee satisfaction survey, an overwhelming 95% of employees reported working well with their coworkers, and an impressive 96% said they are satisfied with their supervisor. We strongly believe in treating our employees with dignity and respect, and 94% of our staff agree they are treated accordingly. As a trauma-informed agency, we prioritize a person-centered treatment philosophy in all aspects of our work. Koinonia is more than just a great place to work; it offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact. Join our dedicated team and contribute to the well-being of children and families in need. Together, we can bring hope and healing to those who need it most. We welcome qualified individuals to apply. Koinonia is an equal opportunity employer.
