Employees in this job start at Step 5 of the pay scale. Promotional salary will follow contractual guidelines.

As a Mental Health Worker, you will provide paraprofessional support involving direct patient care, implementing programs, and education for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Your role is vital in delivering compassionate, recovery-oriented psychiatric care in a supportive environment.
High School diploma or equivalent. Preference for candidates with mental health experience, registered on the Maine CNA registry, and holding a valid Maine driver’s license.
Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is a 69-bed psychiatric hospital serving Maine, providing care for individuals with severe mental illness. We collaborate with patients, families, and communities to offer respectful, effective, and recovery-focused psychiatric treatment in the safest environment possible.
