Beacon Behavioral Health is seeking a Therapist - Intake Coordinator to manage patient intake and referrals for Mental Health services. The role emphasizes timely documentation, coordination with clinical teams, and clear communication of admission criteria and payer requirements.

The intake coordinator will schedule assessments within 24 hours, obtain pre-certifications, and guide patients through the admission process, contributing to quality improvement and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work with LMSW, LCSW, LPC or PLPC required.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health levels of care, insurance authorization processes, and patient intake workflows.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary intake and referral inquiry contact, ensuring documentation and follow-up.
• Maintain relationships with referral sources, patients, families, and clinical teams.
• Review clinical information to assist level-of-care determinations.
• Schedule face-to-face level-of-care assessments within 24 hours of initial contact.
• Communicate services, admission criteria, regulatory requirements, and payer considerations.
• Facilitate referrals to community-based or alternate levels of care when not appropriate.
• Guide patients through admission, obtaining consents and documentation.
• Obtain insurance pre-certifications and collaborate with billing on payer requirements.
• Track and provide weekly referral reports to leadership.
• Collect patient and physician feedback for quality improvement.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
