Job summary

SMA Healthcare in Ocala, FL seeks a licensed mental health professional to provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy, and to develop treatment plans aligned with client diagnoses.

The role requires strong clinical knowledge of DSM, substance use and mental health treatment, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and dedication to client advocacy and measurable outcomes; flexibility to work 8–12 hour shifts with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• DSM diagnosis formulation based on assessment and clinical knowledge.
• Strong clinical knowledge of substance use and mental health therapy.
• Knowledge of clinical assessment, treatment planning, and multiple therapy modalities.
• Ability to set measurable goals and objectives.
• Ability to collaborate with professionals and the public.
• Ability to write clear, concise reports.
• Ability to manage aggressive behavior safely.
• Ability to provide culturally and age-appropriate care.
• Effective written and spoken communication.
• Knowledge of insurance, Medicaid billing and managed care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychotherapy for individuals, groups, and families per diagnosis and plan.
• Assess psychiatric history, mental status, health, and social factors.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans as client needs change.
• Monitor co-occurring symptoms; adjust interventions for safety and effectiveness.
• Educate and support clients and families; advocate for rights and preferences.
• Document client progress in SMA's EMR per procedures.
• Participate in staff meetings and treatment planning reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and external agencies.
• Coordinate with outside services to address client needs.
• Provide practical help, advocacy, and problem solving for daily living.
