Job summary

SMA Healthcare in Ocala, FL seeks a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to monitor clients, support care plans, and maintain documentation. You will help with admissions, daily activities, and routine safety checks to ensure a secure environment.

Responsibilities include using behavior modification techniques, guiding clients through life skills, and coordinating with staff. This role requires strong communication and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of related human services experience preferred.
• Certification as Behavioral Health Technician is preferred.
• Ability to work 8–12 hour shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the behavior and activities of each client; report concerns regarding health, safety, or well‑being to the appropriate authority.
• Serve as a positive role model; utilize approved behavior modification techniques; provide positive reinforcement and support to clients.
• Conduct basic life skills activities.
• Process admissions and discharges; orient clients to the facility; explain rules and procedures; complete required documentation.
• Document clients' activities, behavior patterns, and changes; maintain records.
• Ensure clients adhere to established schedule and routine.
• Collect urine specimens and complete related paperwork; conduct safety checks and searches as needed.
• Perform general office and public contact duties and participate in meetings.
