Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the team at St Joseph's Behavioral Health Center in Tampa, FL. The role supports direct patient care for psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision, with shift hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's degree preferred and BLS certification mandatory. CNA or Patient Care Technician experience is preferred, contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required for patient safety.
• Associate degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details

• Facility: St Joseph's Behavioral Health Center
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required
