Job summary

BayCare Health Systems in St. Petersburg, FL, is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the team at St Anthony's Hospital. This position supports inpatient psychiatric care in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include direct patient care under RN supervision, vigilant monitoring, and helping foster therapeutic relationships. Qualifications include BLS and CNA preferred, with an associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field - Preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• CNA or Patient Care Technician - preferred.

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: St Anthony's Hospital
• Location: St Petersburg, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred

Required Education:

• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
