Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the Mease Dunedin Hospital team in Clearwater, FL. The role supports psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision, focusing on safety, observation, and therapeutic engagement.

The position is full-time and hourly, with shift hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, and offers opportunities to grow within a large health system that values dignity, respect, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; CNA preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric/healthcare settings is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: Mease Dunedin Hospital
• Location: Clearwater, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
