Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the Northside Mental Health team in Tampa, FL. This full-time role provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and supports safety and therapeutic engagement. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

BLS certification is required; CNA preferred. On-site shift 6:45 AM–7:15 PM; no on-call.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: Northside Mental Health
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
