BayCare Health System is hiring a Mental Health Technician for Northside Mental Health in Tampa, FL. This full-time, hourly role supports direct patient care, monitoring, and therapeutic interactions with psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: Northside Mental Health
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required

Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field -

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in related field-

Preferred

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field

Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
