Ridgeview Institute Smyrna is seeking a full-time Mental Health Technician (MHT) to provide continuous patient care and support across age groups from preschool to geriatrics. You will work under the RN, take vitals, document progress, and assist with daily living activities.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention when needed, patient advocacy, and adherence to the individualized treatment plan. A sign-on bonus is offered for full-time staff, with shift differentials available.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.
• One year of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
• CPR/First Aid certification and CPI training within 90 days of employment; may be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.Duties and responsibilities:Take and record vital signs correctly.Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and document changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.Communicate changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse.Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions, and the patient's response to the intervention.Employ appropriate crisis intervention techniques as neededAssist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.Act as the patient's advocate and ensure that the patient's rights are upheld.Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred;Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and an understanding of mental illness, preferred.Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.Additional Requirements: Successful completion CPR/ First Aid certification and CPI training to within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures.
