Job summary

MiraVista Behavioral Health Center in Holyoke, MA, is seeking a Mental Health Technician/CNA for the Older Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Float Pool. You will float among inpatient units, provide basic patient care, monitor well-being, and support patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a High School Diploma; five years of PCT/PCA/CNA or Medical Assistant experience with geriatric or behavioral health patients; preferred bachelor’s degree in psychology

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of PCT/PCA/CNA or Medical Assistant experience with geriatric or behavioral health patients.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and professional boundaries.
• Experience with dementia, cognitive impairment or emotional distress preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support across all inpatient behavioral health units.
• Float to all inpatient units daily based on census, acuity, and staffing needs.
• Conduct patient observation and rounds.
• Assist staff with patient care per treatment plans.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Document in the EMR system and report progress to the team.
• Develop therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility as needed.
