Job summary

MiraVista Behavioral Health Center in Holyoke, MA is seeking a Mental Health Technician/CNA for the 7:00 pm–7:30 am float pool. This role supports inpatients across units, providing direct care, vital signs, and safety monitoring while collaborating with the treatment team.

The position offers a 36-hour week across three 12-hour shifts with a $2.00/hr float differential and opportunities to work with geriatric and behavioral health patients in a compassionate, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of PCT/PCA/CNA or Medical Assistant experience with geriatric or behavioral health patients.
• Current CNA certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across all inpatient behavioral health units.
• Float to all inpatient units daily based on census, acuity, and staffing needs.
• Conduct patient observation and rounds.
• Assist staff with patient care while following treatment plans.
• Obtain and document vital signs for patients.
• Observe and monitor patient’s progress and report observations to staff.
• Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and mobility needs.
• Provide supervision of patients’ activities and safety monitoring.
