Qualifications

Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting patients in developing individuality and appropriate self-expression by promoting an environment where they can problem-solve and test new behaviors.
2. Helping patients acknowledge and accept responsibility for their psychological and behavioral patterns through feedback, positive reinforcement, and adherence to program rules and behavior modification strategies.
3. Participating in admission procedures and orienting patients and their families to the unit and program.
4. Performing basic patient care tasks such as safety rounding, vital signs measurement, specimen collection, accu checks, weighing, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma with at least 1 year of experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or completion of Psychiatric Assistant or Nurse Aide training; or one year of experience in Behavioral Health.
• Certification as a Mental Health Tech is preferred.
