Job description

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients in developing individuality and appropriate self-expression by promoting an environment conducive to problem-solving and testing new behaviors.
  • Help patients acknowledge and accept responsibility for their psychological and behavioral patterns through feedback, positive reinforcement, and adherence to program rules and behavior modification techniques.
  • Participate in admission procedures and orient patients and their families to the unit and program.
  • Perform basic patient care tasks such as safety rounding, vital signs, blood pressure measurement, specimen collection, accu checks, weighing, and assistance with activities of daily living.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma with at least 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or completion of a Psychiatric Assistant or Nurse Aide training program, or one year of experience in Behavioral Health.
  • Certification as a Mental Health Tech is preferred.

Pay Range

$15.88 - $21.83 per hour
