Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Mental Health Tech, you will:

• Be a vital part of the treatment team, handling duties like patient observation, suicide risk monitoring, and behavior modification support.
• Ensure patient safety by maintaining awareness of patient whereabouts, escorting to activities, and assisting with restraints if necessary.
• Take and record vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to the RN.
• Participate in rounding and respond proactively to patient needs to enhance outcomes and experience.
• Assist in maintaining patient charts, including clinical assessments and progress notes for quality treatment.

Qualifications:

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Certification in Non Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) within 30 days of hire.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred but not required.
• At least one year of experience as a Mental Health Technician or CNA in a behavioral health setting preferred.
