Job description

Responsibilities

Functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients. Assists in providing basic physical, social, spiritual, and safety needs of patients through the implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches and related nursing functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Program Director and within the scope of the position.

Qualifications

Shift: FULL TIME NIGHTS

Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Nevada preferred. College credits toward a behavioral science (Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology) undergraduate degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year in an inpatient or partial psychiatric/mental health setting with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques, understanding of mental illness, and development of therapeutic and management programs for special populations preferred.

License/Certification: Current BLS Certification. Successful completion of Handle with Care De-escalation, including restraint and seclusion practices and policies within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

Other: Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/services appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
