Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks a non-exempt caregiver to support the mental health team on inpatient/outpatient units. The role includes direct patient care, vitals, and documentation, with day shifts and a 40-hour week. A signing bonus may be available and final offers depend on hours and equity considerations.

Responsibilities cover safety checks, de-escalation, charting, and collaboration with RNs. HS diploma and BLS within 1 month are required; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant patient support experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer-service oriented.
• Effective problem-solving abilities for routine situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and collect vitals to support the care plan.
• Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Assist the RN in emergencies and routine tasks as needed.
• Document daily progress notes and care activities.
• Maintain logs and patient care charts; participate in team meetings and trainings.
