StarCare Specialty Health System in Lubbock, TX is seeking a mental health professional to join the inpatient hospital team. The Mental Health Specialist supports crisis management with motivational interviewing and de-escalation techniques, guided by supervision from clinical staff, to help ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include facilitating daily activities, observing behavior, completing documentation, and collaborating with nurses and doctors to provide compassionate, compliant care

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.

Aufgaben

• Guide patients through daily activities including meals, hygiene, group and individual therapy, and recreational activities.
• Observe and report changes in patient behavior, mood, or condition to clinical staff.
• Complete hourly rounds to monitor safety and continuity of care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Utilize crisis/de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation of patient interactions and observations.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and doctors to ensure compassionate care.
• Ensure regular attendance for assigned hours.
• Maintain current trainings and credentials per StarCare policy and regulatory standards.
• Support departmental projects and align with StarCare mission.
