Job summary

Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Centers seeks an Inpatient Care Specialist for the Werlein Crisis Stabilization Unit to support multidisciplinary teams and meet patients' basic needs.

You will monitor medication administration, assist with meals and hygiene, document observations, and communicate shift reports to the Charge Nurse. The role emphasizes safety, HIPAA compliance, and patient rights.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake/admission forms and discharge forms in the EHR; follow up on forms when tasks cannot be completed at admission.
• Observe and monitor patients; report observations to staff; complete rounds and document patient well-being.
• Maintain documentation of patient responses, vital signs, and daily notes; complete additional daily notes as needed.
• Assist patients with meals, hygiene, laundry, and other needs.
• Facilitate and document participation in group activities; promote client wellness and independence.
• Clean and disinfect rooms and furnishings; maintain program areas daily.
• Follow safety and infection control guidelines; participate in drills and report safety concerns.
• Respect client rights and abuse/neglect standards; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Provide escort/transport for patients as assigned and report vehicle issues.
• Perform Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior and CPR as required.
• Assist with additional tasks as requested; attend work regularly and follow attendance rules.
