Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in City of Industry, CA, is seeking a Mental Health Security Guard to help ensure a safe, welcoming environment for clients and staff.

In this role you will screen visitors, monitor property and surveillance, control center access, and respond promptly to emergencies, while delivering quality customer service and adhering to security protocols and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or BA degree in a related mental health field.
• One (1) year experience required or equivalent.
• Relevant experience with severely emotionally disturbed populations in clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level customer service while maintaining a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Screen incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventory client property.
• Control access to the center, monitor surveillance, and respond to fires or emergencies.

17.50- 18.50 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

City of Industry, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Sun-Tues 7am-7:30pm

What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications) :

Education & Experience (Must meet one of the following):

• High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience required OR BA degree in a related mental health field

Note: Relevant experience is defined as working with severely emotionally disturbed (SED) children and/or adults in an inpatient, outpatient, or hospital setting, or any environment where safety and security were the primary focus.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Active Security Guard Registration with the California BSIS, OR the ability and commitment to successfully register within 90 days of employment.
• Valid CPR/BLS certification.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a driving record that meets company eligibility policies.

How you will make a difference (Job Overview):

The Safety Specialist is responsible for providing a high level of customer service through maintaining a safe environment for all clients, visitors, staff and physicians. This care is provided through direct and indirect physical and verbal interactions with clients, modeling appropriate behaviors for clients, and monitoring daily client activities. She/he screens incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventories all client property as well as monitoring surveillance equipment. The Safety Specialist controls access to the center, answers/directs incoming clients, conducts physical security checks of the center grounds, and responds to fires and/or emergencies at the center. Maintains vigilance over the general milieu within the facility to facilitate quality client care, optimum facility operations and preserve the safety of all therein.

Division & Program Overview:

• Facility & Setting: 24/7 walk-in outpatient urgent care
• Rapid mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication support
• Short-term stabilization (up to 24 hours)
• Serves up to 12 adults (18 + ) and 6 adolescents (ages 13-17)
