Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group seeks a Mental Health Security Guard for the Long Beach, CA location. This 2-person weekend shift ensures safety, screens entrants, and maintains a secure environment for patients and staff while providing courteous service.

The role requires either a high school diploma with one year of experience or a BA in a related mental health field, plus active California BSIS registration or intent to register within 90 days, CPR/BLS, and a valid CA driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year experience, or a BA in a related mental health field.
• Experience with severely emotionally disturbed clients in inpatient, outpatient, or hospital settings, or any environment where safety and security were the focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service while maintaining a safe environment for clients, visitors, staff and physicians.
• Screen incoming clients/visitors for contraband and monitor client property and surveillance equipment.
• Control access to the center, direct incoming clients, perform security checks, and respond to fires or emergencies.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year experience OR BA degree in related mental health field

Relevant experience working with SED clients in clinical settings

This care is provided through direct and indirect physical and verbal interactions with clients, modeling appropriate behaviors for clients, and monitoring daily client activities. She/he screens incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventories all client property as well as monitoring surveillance equipment. The Safety Specialist controls access to the center, answers/directs incoming clients, conducts physical security checks of the center grounds, and responds to fires and/or emergencies at the center.
