Job summary

SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Mental Health Professional I to provide direct, recovery-oriented care to ACT beneficiaries in Columbia, SC. You will teach coping strategies, facilitate independent living skills, and collaborate with an Assertive Community Treatment team to promote long-term mental health stability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
• Licensed as an LISW, LLISW-CP, LMFT, or LPC in the state of South Carolina.
• One year of professional experience with adults who have a serious mental illness in a SC state agency.
• Credentialed for core services with supervised clinical experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, recovery-oriented care to ACT beneficiaries and teach coping strategies.
• Utilize assertive engagement to connect with hard-to-reach beneficiaries.
• Facilitate person-centered planning and access community services and support networks.
• Complete screenings and comprehensive assessments for new referrals.
• Provide family psychoeducation and collaborate with natural supports.
• Participate in clinical supervision and treatment team meetings; maintain certifications in evidence-based practices.
• Attend daily team meetings and provide consultation on complex cases.
