Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a Mental Health BSN Nursing Instructor to join our Workforce Solutions program in Fresno, partnering with Community Health Systems. You will provide clinical site education and supervise student experiences in affiliated health care facilities.

The role requires CA BRN licensure, eligibility to instruct in multiple nursing areas, and a Master’s or BSN with progress toward a Master’s. A minimum four years of RN practice with nursing education experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, unencumbered license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Eligible for CA BRN approval as Instructor for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
• Master’s degree in nursing, education, or administration or BSN with Master’s program enrollment may be considered for teaching.
• Minimum four years’ RN direct patient care experience, with 1 year in the last five years.
• One-year teaching experience in nursing preferred.
• Expertise in Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, or Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical site education to students at the Workforce Solutions Program site.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned facilities.
• Evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback on clinical performance after observations.
• Maintain student records including attendance and activity check-offs.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate students; adapt methods to individual learners.
• Incorporate online activities to supplement course content and learning.
• Submit program reports to the Academic Site Director in a timely manner.
• Stay current with safety regulations and innovative technologies.
• Participate in committee activities supporting the nursing program.

Education

Master’s degree in nursing or related field

BSN

CA BRN RN license

Enrollment in Master’s program (for Clinical Teaching Assistant)

Minimum four years RN direct patient care experience

Teaching experience in nursing or nursing education
