Job summary

Carhartt, Inc. is seeking a 3PL Load Planner to monitor routing and craft a daily shipping plan for a 3PL partner. You will coordinate with on-site teams to execute plans, validate pick status, and optimize routes for cost, time and carrier performance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in logistics planning, familiarity with SAP and TMS systems, and a strong understanding of warehousing and customer service operations. This onsite role reports to the Distribution Planning Supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years in Logistics or Transportation planning.
Experience with Transportation Management/Optimization systems preferred.
Understanding of warehousing, order fulfillment and customer service functions.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze daily waves of shippable orders to create a daily shipping plan.
Coordinate with on-site 3PL team to execute the plan and communicate changes.
Identify orders for consolidation and optimize routing for cost/capacity/lead time.
Obtain routing per customer routing guides and update TMS/online tools.
Review carrier tenders to ensure loads stay within parameters and optimize.
Monitor transportation plan execution and liaise between logistics centers, carriers and customer service.
Maintain relationships with core carriers and manage cost, on-time performance and utilization.
Negotiate spot quote rates as needed.
Deliver improvements in costs and operations year over year.
