Job summary

Insight Memory Care Center in Fairfax, VA is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant (PRN) to support participants with dementia through engaging activities in a respectful, person-centered environment. Responsibilities include leading group and individual activities, assisting with daily living tasks, and coordinating with a caring team during hours 9:30am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of experience with individuals with dementia in a memory care setting.
• Ability to facilitate a wide variety of programs including music, art, cognitive, social and physical activities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills; able to work independently.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, email, virtual meeting platforms, and general internet use.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities for participants in large and small groups and individually.
• Assist participants with activities of daily living at the Center.
• Foster a team-focused environment and practice Person-Centered Care.
• Support a therapeutic recreation program meeting physical, cognitive, and social needs.
