Insight Memory Care Center is hiring a Recreation Assistant to support participants with dementia in day programs. The role includes leading activities across group sizes, assisting with daily living tasks, and promoting recovery-focused, person-centered care in a collaborative team setting.

The RA will contribute to a safe, engaging environment and coordinate with a director-level supervisor to ensure high-quality programming and participant well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Music, Art, or Speech Therapy (or related field) preferred or equivalent work experience.

Recreation Assistant

The Recreation Assistant (RA) will be responsible for day-to-day activities of participants in large groups, small groups and as individuals to help meet their psycho-social needs. The RA will report directly to the Director of Recreation (DR). The RA will also help participants with completing activities of daily living while at the Center. The RA is also responsible for fostering a team-focused environment and practicing Person Centered Care for all participants in their programming and care needs.

This position is full-time, working a schedule of Monday-Friday.

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Music, Art, or Speech Therapy (or related field), or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Experience

• Must have a minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with dementia in a memory care setting.
• Must be able to assist in facilitating a wide variety of programs including but not limited to: music, art, cognitive, social and physical activities.
• Must be able to work independently and have strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, email, virtual meeting platforms, and ability utilize the internet.
