Job summary

Senior Lifestyle’s The Sheridan at Tyler Creek in Elgin, IL seeks a Memory Care Coordinator to promote and implement the Embrace pillars across memory care, coordinating daily programming and staff support. The role focuses on leading high-quality activities, ensuring resident engagement, and collaborating with the Health and Wellness team.

The candidate should have 1–3+ years in Alzheimer’s/dementia care with required certifications and a bachelor-level emphasis in related fields.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Area of Study: Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Psychology, or related field.
• 1-3+ years experience in Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care, senior recreation programming, and management.
• Certifications: Activity Director Certified, Certified Dementia Practitioner, or Therapeutic Recreation Assistant.
• Fluent English to communicate with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and third parties.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of 5-7 memory care programs per day.
• Oversee daily operations of Memory Care in partnership with Memory Care Director.
• Provide education, training, and hands-on support to community staff.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate resident activities and programs.
• Implement and monitor programs to maintain resident/family/staff satisfaction and fiscal responsibility.
