Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Lifestyle Coordinator (Activity Assistant) to plan and deliver meaningful programs for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. The role focuses on social engagement, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being, requiring compassion and patience.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of experience with seniors, dementia exposure, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Dementia Practitioner, or Montessori training, a plus.
• 1–2 years of relevant senior-care experience preferred.
• Experience with dementia/Alzheimer's is preferred.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and one-on-one programs aligned with residents' cognitive abilities and interests.
• Develop and conduct daily activities for memory care residents, including music, reminiscence, art, and exercise.
• Modify activities for inclusivity and success for all participants.
• Coordinate activities with the care team to complement care plans.
• Plan and execute special memory care events and seasonal activities.
• Encourage participation and document outcomes as required.
• Review goals and progress notes.
• Support caregiving during meals and breaks.
• Assist the Resident Lifestyle Director and Memory Care Director as needed.
