Genesiscareers is seeking a Memory Care Director to lead a dementia program within the Albuquerque Heights team. The role includes developing engaging activity programming, supervising staff, and managing the unit’s budget to ensure high-quality care.

The candidate will collaborate with families, coordinate resources, and ensure compliance with licensure and state requirements. A strong background in dementia care and leadership in healthcare is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, nursing, therapeutic recreation, psychology, gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Three years of direct dementia experience with patients and families required.
• Two years of supervisory experience in healthcare required.
• State licensure and meeting state requirements for this position recommended.
• Clinical knowledge of dementia care, leadership abilities, and marketing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each patient and develop programming to maximize abilities, contentment, and self-esteem; perform quality improvements.
• Engage outside resources to complement activity programs (e.g., entertainment, intergenerational programming).
• Directly and indirectly supervise all staff assigned to the Dementia Program unit.
• Responsible for the financial performance and budget of the Dementia Program unit.
• Educate families through support groups, family council, and other methods.
