Job summary

Genesis is seeking a Memory Care Director (Dementia Program Director) to lead a comprehensive dementia program within a nursing center. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to plan and implement programming addressing physical, social, cultural, spiritual, and intellectual needs of patients and residents.

The role includes supervising staff, coordinating care, managing admissions/discharges, and overseeing budgeting for the dementia unit.

Qualifications

• Three years of direct dementia care experience with patients and/or families.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
• State licensure in the respective discipline is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings to coordinate quality patient/resident care as part of the nursing center interdisciplinary team.
• Assess each patient/resident and develop programming to maximize abilities and self-esteem.
• Conduct ongoing quality improvement evaluations covering environment, documentation, and team functioning.
• Develop daily and monthly activity calendars and participate in their implementation.
• Advocate for patients/residents and families through education and support.
• Manage admissions and discharges from the unit.
• Oversee the Dementia Program unit's budget and financial performance.
