Job summary

Oakmont Management Group in California seeks a Memory Care Director to lead the Traditions neighborhood with a whole-living dementia care approach. You will oversee care delivery, activities, and dining, ensuring alignment with residents’ service plans and delivering personalized care to maximize independence.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Prefer two (2) years of dementia care experience and one (1) year supervising and managing employees.
• Preferred BA/S in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field or at least 3 years in social services or residential care.
• A Residential Care Facility for the Elderly administrators’ license may be required.
• Hold or able to obtain dementia care certifications (CDP/CAC/CAE/CDCM/ Montessori Dementia Care Professional).
• Able to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR and Food Handler’s certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations concerning memory care (Title 22).
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, motivate, and retain memory care staff.
• Coordinate departmental schedules to meet resident needs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Support resident participation in activities and dining with the Culinary team.
• Provide input on pre-admission assessments and reassessments.
• Coordinate medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, discharge planners, nurses, and state agencies on resident care.
