Job summary

Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings – Sylvania, OH seeks a Memory Care Director to lead a specialized memory care program, ensuring compassionate, personalized care for residents with dementia.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in senior living with 2+ in leadership, plus dementia-care certifications. This role oversees staff, program development, family liaison, and regulatory compliance within a dedicated memory care neighborhood.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
• CDP, CADDCT, or similar dementia care certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in senior living/long-term care/memory care, including 2 years in leadership.
• Strong dementia care knowledge and memory care best practices.
• Knowledge of state and federal senior care regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor memory care team members.
• Develop staff schedules for adequate coverage and quality care.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.
• Lead staff meetings on resident care and operational improvements.
• Promote a compassionate, team-oriented culture.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
• Monitor progress and adjust care plans with interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding wellbeing.
• Ensure care complies with state regulations and company standards.
• Create engaging cognitive and social programs for residents.
• Plan dementia-specific activities and introduce innovative approaches.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in inspections.
