American Senior Communities is seeking a Memory Care Support Specialist for Meadow Lakes in Indiana. You will work with residents living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia in a long-term care setting.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and dementia care experience; certifications encouraged. You will educate and coach staff, collaborate with nursing, therapy and social services to deliver person-centered care. This role emphasizes empathy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Human Services, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Experience with residents living with Alzheimer’s or dementia in long-term care required.
• Experience in Memory Care, Social Services, or Activities & Recreation preferred.
• Professional certification in dementia/Alzheimer’s care preferred.
• Passion for geriatric advocacy and person-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Educate, observe, and support staff through training on dementia care principles.
• Coach staff on resident-centered approaches and engagement strategies.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, activities, leadership, and regulators to promote quality care.
• Develop or support meaningful activities and social enrichment to enhance residents’ lives.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members with empathy.
