Job summary

Manor Lake Cartersville is seeking a dedicated caregiver to provide direct patient care under supervision. You will assist residents with daily activities, meals, and personal care while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include recording vitals, observing conditions, reporting changes to supervisors, and helping with admissions, transfers, and discharge. A CNA is preferred but not required; CPR and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High School education preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Completion of training program for certification (CNA preferred not required).
• Previous experience with geriatric nursing preferred.
• Knowledge of procedures involved in administering basic first aid and resident care.
• CPR certification.
• Basic understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Good physical and mental health; neat, clean, well groomed and responsible.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the elderly.
• Must have upper body strength adequate to bend, lift, shift, move, and/or assist in moving articles of more than seventy-five pounds.
• Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress. Must be able to tolerate extended periods walking, standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily bath and/or shower and dressing, grooming, dental care.
• Prepare residents for meals and after-meal care; provide table service.
• Record vital signs, weight and observe skin breakdown; report changes to supervisor.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and report complaints or incidents.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of residents; inventory possessions.
• Provide daily light housekeeping and ensure cleanliness of rooms.
• Observe safety rules and infection control; report safety violations to supervisor.
• Attend orientation, required training and staff meetings.
