Job summary

The Residence at Orchard Grove in Shrewsbury, MA is hiring a Part-Time Memory Care Activity Assistant to plan, develop, and implement resident activities and coordinate transportation and volunteers. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred), strong English communication, creativity, and the ability to work independently.

Driving residents in a van may be required, with paid training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in recreational therapy or related field preferred; gerontology experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with minimal moving violations (state of work).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing all residence activities.
• Develop suggestions to improve and expand the Activities Program.
• Maintain a professional, warm and caring relationship with residents and families.
• Assist in arranging transportation and escorts for residents to and from activities.
• Assist with maintaining and expanding Volunteer Programs.
• Assist residents with monthly newsletter and/or weekly calendar.
• Drive residents in van as needed.
