Job summary

St. Paul’s Senior Services in San Diego seeks a compassionate Activities Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and implement daily activity programs for memory-impaired residents under the guidance of the Villa Activities Coordinator.

You will tailor activities to individual needs and interests. The role requires organizing and documenting programs, budgeting for activities, and collaborating with Villa staff to deliver meaningful experiences.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize; teach, supervise, and orient; willingness to accept consultant direction and to assume responsibility.
• Interest in and understanding of the needs of the aged and the chronically ill or disabled.
• Must be computer literate [create documents, send and respond to email, etc.].

Responsibilities

• Help develop and implement activity programs for memory-impaired residents within regulatory frameworks.
• Coordinate programs with Villa services and staff; implement group and individual activities.
• Develop activities offering sensory and social experiences with personal achievement.
• Encourage resident participation in planning and independence.
• Develop weekly activity schedules with the Activity Coordinator.
• Evaluate participants and tailor programs to backgrounds and needs.
• Document activity plans and attendance/participation data.
• Manage program records within budget.
• Attend staff meetings and assist with supplies.
• Ensure safe supervision and engaged group activities throughout the day.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Coordinator.
