Job summary

Resorts at Augsburg is seeking a Memory Care Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in planning and delivering meaningful, engaging activities for residents with dementia. You will help create a positive, structured environment that promotes socialization, cognitive stimulation, and well-being while respecting individual needs.

The role involves assisting with daily and group activities, adapting to varying abilities, and documenting resident participation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with older adults, especially memory care residents.
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing facility exposure is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and professionalism in interactions with residents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating daily and group activities for memory care residents.
• Provide activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, creativity, movement, and emotional well-being.
• Adapt activities to varying cognitive, physical, and functional abilities.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting choices and the right to decline.
• Assist residents with transportation to/from activities as needed.
• Document resident participation and activity responses per facility policy.
