Job summary

Sterling Healthcare Management is seeking an energetic Activity Aide to bring joy, purpose, and connection to our residents. You will plan and lead group and individual activities, support special events, and build real relationships with those who call our facility home.

This Afternoon/Evening position starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. No weekend work required. Experience with elderly or memory care populations is preferred, with CNA certification encouraged but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience working with elderly or memory care populations.
• Certified Nurse Assistant, preferred but NOT required.
• Warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality.
• Creative, energetic, and able to engage with others.
• Afternoon/Evening shift: starts at 2 p.m., ends at 8:30 p.m.; no weekend work.
• Experience with activities for older adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with group activities including arts and crafts, music, games, and exercise programs for residents on our Dementia Unit.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who cannot attend group programs.
• Adapt activities for residents with dementia, memory impairment, or physical limitations.
• Set up, facilitate, and clean up activity spaces before and after each program.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and themed dining programs.
• Decorate the facility for seasons and holidays to create a warm environment.
• Document resident participation accurately in the activity record.
• Escort and assist residents to and from activity programs safely.
• Support volunteers and community visitors during programs.
• Report any resident behavioral changes or concerns to the nurse.
