Allure is seeking an Activity Assistant for day shift to support memory care residents through engaging, personalized activities. You will help plan, implement, and evaluate programs aligned with each resident’s assessment and care plan, promoting physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual well‑being.
You will work under the Activity Director and collaborate with nursing and other departments to ensure safe, meaningful activities, including one‑on‑one interactions and group events.
The Activity Assistant is responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for memory care residents. This position supports residents’ overall well-being by providing meaningful activities that align with each resident’s individual assessment and care plan. The Activity Assistant works under the direction of the Activity Director and facility supervisors to ensure programs are engaging, safe, and supportive of residents’ physical, social, and emotional needs.
Assist with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs for memory care residents.
Provide activities that are appropriate for residents’ abilities, interests, and individual care plans.
Observe and document resident participation, mood, behavior, and responses to activities.
Maintain accurate and descriptive activity progress notes in resident records.
Prepare activity areas before programs and assist with cleanup afterward.
Follow resident care plans when providing daily activities and resident engagement.
Promote residents’ physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual well‑being through structured and individualized activities.
Provide one‑on‑one engagement with residents, including friendly visits, crafts, games, music, conversation, and other individualized activities.
Assist residents with small errands and other appropriate activities that promote independence and quality of life.
Build positive working relationships with nursing, dietary, housekeeping, therapy, and other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
Assist with purchasing and organizing activity supplies, clothing, and personal items for residents as needed.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity areas.
Follow all facility policies, procedures, infection‑control practices, and safety guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.
Report changes in resident behavior, mood, participation, or condition to the appropriate supervisor or nursing staff.
Assist with special events, holidays, resident outings, and facility‑wide activities as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director or facility supervisor.
Previous experience in a Long‑Term Care or Memory Care Activities Department preferred.
Previous experience working with elderly residents, including individuals with cognitive impairments, preferred.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move frequently throughout the shift.
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds and move items up to 50 feet.
Ability to assist residents during emergency evacuations when necessary.
Ability to work with individuals who may be ill, disabled, cognitively impaired, or emotionally distressed.
Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
