Avir at Colonel in Garland, Texas is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to join our Memory Care team. You will design and implement engaging activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and well-being for residents.

The role involves collaborating with the Memory Care team, leading group and one-on-one activities, monitoring participation, and supporting daily living tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement activities that cater to residents' diverse needs and abilities, including arts and crafts, music, exercise, and recreation
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and caregivers to ensure activities meet their needs and preferences
• Collaborate with the Memory Care team to identify and address resident needs, concerns, and interests
• Create and lead group activities, as well as one-on-one engaging experiences
• Monitor and record resident participation and outcomes to inform activity programs and improve care
• Develop and maintain activity calendars, reports, and records
• Participate in staff meetings and training to stay current on best practices and initiatives
• Provide support with daily living tasks and assist with administering medications as needed
