Job summary

Avamere at Park Place in Portland, OR is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in planning and executing engaging activities for Memory Care residents. The role focuses on enhancing well-being through diverse programs in a community setting that includes independent living, assisted living, and memory care.

The position requires energy, compassion, and strong communication skills to work with geriatric residents and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

CPR/BLS certification preferred.
Active and valid Driver's License required.
Experience with geriatric populations preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to connect with residents and families.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement diverse activities (games, exercise, arts, music, social events).
Create schedules and calendars of activities.
Prepare spaces and gather supplies; ensure safety.
Lead group activities and one-on-one engagement.
Encourage participation and assist residents.
Observe responses and report changes to staff.
Maintain attendance and feedback records.
Coordinate with staff and families on activities.
Transport residents to activities as needed.
Set up/clean activity areas; attend meetings.
Adhere to safety protocols; keep area clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
