Job summary

Avamere Living is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support memory care residents through planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities and events. This role focuses on enhancing well-being and resident engagement within an independent living, assisted living, and memory care setting.

You will help with activity planning, resident engagement, and documentation, working closely with the Life Enrichment Director and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years old to drive company vehicle.
• Prefer experience in long-term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and/or critical care clinical setting.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must hold an active and unencumbered Driver’s License.
• Experience with volunteer work and/or activities work with the geriatric population.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, flexible, patient and empathetic working with the geriatric population.
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing activities and events.
• Create activity schedules and calendars.
• Prepare activity areas and gather supplies.
• Lead group activities and engage residents one-on-one.
• Encourage participation and provide assistance.
• Observe responses and report changes.
• Maintain records of resident participation.
• Coordinate activities with staff and families.
• Transport residents to and from activities.
• Attend staff meetings and training.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
