Job summary

Starling at Nocatee Assisted Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to develop and oversee resident activities that promote health, wellbeing, engagement and growth.

You will plan lifestyle programs, holidays, and events, recruit resources, organize calendars and newsletters, and support a vibrant community while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining relations with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and conduct lifestyle programs that promote residents' physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
• Assist in planning appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
• Assist in recruiting and developing additional resources for services to the residents.
• Advise and motivate residents regarding activities based on interests and growth opportunities.
• Prepare and organize a calendar of events submitted to the Memory Care Director for final approval; assist in posting and distributing the calendar.
• Assist in developing and printing the community newsletter.
• Assist with purchases and maintaining equipment and supplies within budgetary guidelines.
• Assist in organizing and supervising a volunteer staff.
• Address resident groups and other groups on topics of common interest.
• Participate in community in-services.
• Demonstrate competence in Federal, State and Local regulations applicable to assisted living; ensure compliance.
• Assist in developing, facilitating and analyzing resident surveys to determine ongoing activities meet resident interests.
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate appropriate mixed group activities.
• Develop and facilitate daily displays of activities on bulletin boards and kiosks in lobbies, elevators, dining rooms and other communication centers.
• Maintain a robust public relations program in support of activities programming and community relations.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
