Job summary

Evercare in Illinois is seeking an Activities Assistant/Aide to assist in planning, developing, and evaluating activity programs for residents in a secured memory care unit. You will work closely with supervisors to ensure programs align with each resident's care plan.

The role emphasizes maintaining a warm, calm environment, documenting resident progress, and supporting other departments to ensure daily activities run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department or Memory Care is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood and involvement; chart and report progress.
• Maintain warm, calm atmosphere and good relations with other departments within the facility.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas and recommend supplies.
• Follow care plans in delivering daily activities for residents.
• Oversee residents during activities to promote well-being.
• Assist in-room residents with visits, letters, errands, and crafts as needed.
• Work hours are 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
